Kicking goals for Mental Health – a recap

We are absolutely thrilled about the overwhelming success of July’s Sold-out Kick a Goal for Mental Health event at the MCG! It clearly demonstrated how such gatherings can serve as a potent platform to ignite discussions and concrete actions in support of positive men’s mental health both at home and in the workplace.

A special expression of gratitude goes out to all our attendees and generous donors, especially those who contributed remarkable memorabilia and experiences for the auction and raffle. The proceeds from these contributions will play a crucial role in sustaining our much-needed 1800 MY BUDDY hotline, which offers nationwide support to men, allowing them to connect with our trusted buddy team members.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our Ambassadors Matthew Richardson, Tim Mannah, Peter Hitchener, Kevin Sheedy along with our special guests, Dr Kate Hall, Mike Brady, comedian Dave Thornton, Robert DiPierdomenico, Billy Brownless, David Hussey, Johnny & Jules Rombotis, Greg Hall, Simon Madden and Corporate Partners, Institute for Public Accountants, RRI Advisory, Lending Association and BDO for their invaluable contributions, which significantly contributed to the success of the day. And how remarkable was Mike Brady’s iconic rendition of “Up There Cazaly”! Truly unforgettable!

We are also deeply grateful to the MCG for being gracious hosts, providing an excellent venue for discussing such a vital topic.

The realisation of The Male Hug’s mission through the power of community collaboration is truly inspiring, and this is just the beginning. We eagerly look forward to October, which is just around the corner, bringing with it #Talktober, another opportunity to come together and make a difference.
